OCT 28 MIAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Missouri Western's Anthony Williams earned his first athlete of the week honor this season. Williams was all over the field as the Griffon defense completed its first shutout since 2014, 28-0 against Emporia State. He tallied a game-best 15 total tackles with a sack and a quarterback hurry from his linebacker position. Williams recorded seven solo stops alone, which have would have been good for second-most on the team, Saturday. - MIAA Football

OCT 7 MIAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: For the first time this season, Missouri Western's Sam Webb has been named the MIAA's defensive player of the week. Webb was responsible for all three Griffon takeaways with two interceptions and a forced fumble that he recovered himself in a road at Washburn. One of his interceptions and the forced and recovered fumble both came in the first quarter. Webb also recovered an onside kickoff by the Ichabods in the fourth quarter. - MIAA Football
